Cascading Clock Concept

The precedence for this concept is very clear, and I thought of it as soon as the assignment was given (although I decided to do a total of 4 concepts first to see if anything stuck). I’ve been a fan of that look since I saw it, and would love to make a real working clock based on the aesthetic set forth by the UNIX timestamp posters, which can be found on Blanka.co.uk.

I envision 7 or 8 concentric circles of graduating diameter, the visible percentage of which would be tied to the measurements of milisecond, second, minute, hour, day, month, and year. I also envision a slow and subtle hue change, such that it would turn blue at midnight, and red at noon– the color schemes below represent basically what I have in mind for these two different states.
